Terms of Use
By using Stoof you agree to these terms of use. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, you may not use the app.
1. About Stoof
Stoof is a personal recipe and weekly planning app offered via getstoof.eu. The app allows you to save recipes, plan weekly menus and generate shopping lists for your household. For questions you can reach us at info@getstoof.eu.
2. Your account
2.1 Registration
To use Stoof you must create an account with a valid email address and a password. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.
2.2 Security
You are solely responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activities that take place via your account. Do you suspect unauthorised access? Contact us immediately at info@getstoof.eu.
2.3 One account per person
You may only create one account. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or transferred to third parties. Household members can create their own account and join your household via the invitation feature.
3. Permitted use
Stoof is intended for personal, non-commercial use. You may use the app to:
- Save and manage personal recipes
- Plan weekly menus for your household
- Generate automatic shopping lists
- Share recipes with members of your household via the invitation feature
- Use AI features to import and structure recipes
4. Prohibited use
It is not permitted to use Stoof for:
- Commercial purposes without prior written consent
- Uploading illegal, offensive or infringing content
- Circumventing security measures or attacking our infrastructure
- Automatically querying our API via bots or scrapers
- Sharing your account with people outside your household
- Any use that is contrary to applicable law
In case of abuse, we reserve the right to suspend or delete your account immediately and without prior notice.
5. Your content
5.1 Ownership
The recipes, photos and other content you store in Stoof remain your property. You grant Stoof a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and display this content to the extent necessary for the app to function.
5.2 Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the content you enter. Do not store content that infringes third-party copyrights unless you are entitled to do so. Stoof cannot be held liable for content entered by users.
5.3 AI processing
When you use the AI import feature, your recipe text or photo is temporarily forwarded to Anthropic (Claude API) for processing. This data is not stored by Stoof after processing. Please consult our privacy policy for more details.
6. Availability and maintenance
We strive for maximum availability of Stoof, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation. We reserve the right to:
- Take the app temporarily offline for maintenance or updates
- Modify, add or remove features
- Discontinue the app, with at least 30 days' prior notice by email
Upon discontinuation, we will offer you the opportunity to export your data.
7. AI features
Stoof uses AI (Claude by Anthropic) to import and structure recipes. Please note:
- AI-generated recipes may contain errors — always check ingredients and quantities before cooking
- The AI feature is a tool, not a replacement for your own judgment
- The number of free AI imports may be limited — see current limits in the app
8. Limitation of liability
Stoof is provided as is. We do our best, but cannot guarantee perfect operation.
Stoof is not liable for:
- Loss of data due to technical failures (make regular backups via the export feature)
- Damage resulting from incorrect AI suggestions or recipe information
- Indirect damage, consequential damage or loss of profit
- Damage from unauthorised access to your account due to your own negligence
Our liability is in any case limited to the amount you have paid for Stoof in the past 12 months, or €50 if that is lower.
9. Intellectual property
All rights to the Stoof application, logo, name, code and user interface belong to Stoof. You may not copy, modify, distribute or reverse-engineer them without express written permission.
The name 'Stoof' and the associated logo are unregistered trademarks. Unauthorised use is not permitted.
10. Payments and subscriptions
Stoof currently offers a free basic version. If paid features are introduced, the following conditions apply:
- Prices will be clearly communicated before purchase
- Purchases via the App Store or Google Play are subject to the respective platform terms
- Refunds are handled in accordance with the policy of the relevant platform
We will inform you at least 30 days in advance by email when paid features are introduced.
11. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms of use from time to time. For significant changes you will receive a notification by email and/or in the app, at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
If you continue to use the app after the effective date, you agree to the amended terms. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before the effective date.
12. Applicable law and disputes
These terms of use are governed by Belgian law. In case of a dispute, we will first try to resolve it by mutual agreement. If that is not possible, the courts of Belgium have jurisdiction.
As a consumer you also have the right to use the Online Dispute Resolution platform of the European Commission: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
13. Account deletion
You can at any time request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated data. This can be done via the app (About Stoof → Delete account) or via info@getstoof.eu. We will process your request within 30 days.
After deletion, your data cannot be recovered. Make sure to export any recipes you wish to keep before deleting your account.
